As Wayne had his ‘Disneyland-esque’ adventure going to Old Car City in Georgia, I also had my adventure.
Salem, Massachusetts. The Witchy City.
Exploring and visiting Salem was a Time of Remembrance for me. It wasn’t exciting and fun. I actually had much thought about this. Unfathomable acts of unrealistic unspeakable injustice happened here. They were not trials. They were straight executions. Why ‘glorify’ and put together a place where these things happened?
I really don’t want to say any more about that part of things.
Salem is a town filled with history on many different levels and layers. There is the commercialized part which ‘glorifies’ witchcraft with the sale of materials and products for the practice. Then there are the tours, the walks, and the museums.
Yes, I did purchase a variety of items. Candles. Herbs (including Eye Of Newt). Coaster, magnet, post card. A few oracle and tarot decks. A witchy hoodie. The most exciting purchase was a new Book of Shadows. It’s Gorgeous! It is emerald green in color with a Raven on the front and set with parchment paper. I actually think it looks like a buzzard bird! Very beautiful nonetheless.
I am glad that I did have the experience of touring through Salem. I made many words of Gratefulness to the Ancestors who lost their lives there. I honour them always.
We were lucky enough to park the Fifth Wheel at a residence we found through the ‘boondocker’s welcome’ website. Three quarters of an hour drive away from Salem in a town named Lowell. A beautiful place!!! There is not one home or yard that isn’t pristine here! Everything picture perfect. We wanted to do some exploring of Lowell but the weather was uncooperative. The days I wasn’t in Salem all it did was rain. Maybe we’ll come and visit Lowell again one day.
THANK YOU INCREDIBLY MUCH TO DENISE AND RICH FOR THE USE OF THEIR DRIVEWAY! Incredible Hosts and Hostess !
